You are keen to become a wealthy affiliate, the next internet millionaire. This will be easy. You have just signed up to the best affiliate marketing program on the internet. They provide everything you need, all the tools from free training, great products and services to pre-made adverts for you to use and the best compensation plan on the planet! Becoming a wealthy affiliate will be easy. Post a few ads on a few websites and you will be on your way to your internet wealth. Right?

Before you break ground on that large mansion on the hill, here are one or two mistakes many new affiliate marketers make that you’ll be wanting to avoid at all costs.

5. Believing all the hype

Yes. This does include the hype promoted by your own chosed affiliate program. Everyone is trying to sell their product online and of course they are going to tell you that it is the best there is and that it is going to change your life for the better. You will make money through affiliate marketing but probably not in the first few months of the program. Look at this as a long term investment in your future. Do not assume that all the hype is true.

4. Putting in little effort and expecting results

Expect to work your business. And expect to work it daily. If you opened your own neighborhood store, you’d be expecting to have to go into work daily, would you not? You would expect to need to publicize and get people to come to your store. Well, you just opened your own brand new net store, what are you about to do to make it work? How are you going to get folks to come look at your product?

3. Perfect prior planning prevents poor performance

Plan your work and work your plan. You need to set yourself smart targets. Many people join affiliate marketing programs in order to become a wealthy affiliate and make lots of money. How much? How quickly? How? ( Try and be practical here, making 1,000,000 dollars in 1 month isn’t realistic. ) O.K, so you’ve got your clear, explicit goal. Now how are you going to get there. Again, think clear, particular steps here. Be consistent.

2. Advertising your affiliate link

Wait a minute, if you do not publicize your affiliate link, how are you intending to get sales and downline members? It is important to build your own site or blog that contains great, compelling links to your affiliate marketing programme. Every other member of your chosen affiliate program gets the same internet site, tools and banners that you do. You have got to be capable of making yourself different from everybody else, stand out from the crowd and be different. You do this by creating your own site.

Never do this. Keep going no matter what. You may not make money for the first few months but if you stick at it you WILL start to make good money, it’s the way the business works.
