How Network Marketing Works

Network marketing or multi-level marketing, is a marketing model that is used by some companies to sell their products and services. Network marketing uses independent business owners to sell the company’s products and recruit others to sell the products as well. Money is earned by the independent business owner when they or their recruits sell the company’s products or services. Profit is also dependent on how many recruits the business owner is able to sponsor. The more recruits working for the company, the higher level of profit base the business will receive.

There are several different networks marketing companies to choose from, ranging from books to adult supplies, to candles and prepaid legal services. Once you have decided what kind of products and/or services you would like to sell, you should find a sponsor with the company. Looking at the company’s website, doing a Google search, or searching Craigslist should find a sponsor with the company that you are looking to work with.

Once you have found a sponsor you are now ready to start working for the company. Most network marketing companies have some kind of package you need to purchase. This package will include the products you are going to sell to others. You will find customers to buy your products, and receive a profit on the items that you sell. Most network marketing companies would like the business owner to continue to use and purchase the products as well.

One of the hardest parts of this small business is finding others to sell the products. Most business owners first market to their friends and family, then acquaintances, church goers and neighbors. After marketing to those in the social network, they may distribute flyers, post Craigslist ads or ads in their local newspapers.

Network marketing has been around for decades, and although is a controversial way to make money-many individuals are quite successful at it. To succeed at network marketing one must be passionate about the products they sell, committed to find others that love the company and want to represent them, and be willing to work long hours to make the business profitable.
