Making Money through Product Reviews
This may sound strange to a lot of people but you can actually make money online through product reviews. More and more people are turning to the internet to buy their things because of the convenience it offers when it comes to information, shipping and discounts. Big resellers have also seen the value in this and have started to give lucrative commissions to those that are able to drive customers to their site.
If there’s one thing I can’t stress enough, it’s to make sure that you don’t have any simple grammar and spelling mistakes in your article. This may sound like nitpicking but trust me when I say that people will get the impression of a poorly written piece if you don’t make sure that there are no errors when it comes to spelling and grammar. Another good thing to remember is that you should keep your article as short and as simple as possible because people want to dive into the content as fast as possible and not go through your life story before hitting the review.
One more thing to keep in mind is that you should never make assumptions about the product because your readers aren’t looking for your assumptions, they’re looking for opinions based on the actual product. Explain to them how the product works, what it offers and if possible write a comparison against a competing product and see how they measure up against each other. Show the reader what the pros and cons of the product are, if the product is advertising or giving people expectations of something, write if the product hits that expectation or not.
There is one thing that a lot of experienced product reviewers tend do forget the longer they’re doing this. Never forget to add a bit of your personality into the things that you right because a little subjectivity goes a long way. Your readers will appreciate the fact that it is a real person doing the reviewing for them and not just some paid cubicle worker churning out articles.
If you have a digital camera with you (a smart phone camera works as well) then try and get a couple of photos of the product to include in your review as well. They don’t have to be picture perfect for you to be able to use them in your posts. Keep the photos as “real” as possible because they’re looking for pictures that show the thing in action and not something that was staged by some advertising agency.
NEVER write a review of a product that you do not have or do not have experience with in the first place. You won’t be able to answer all of the questions with regards to that thing and you’ll lack key details to make a full and thorough review. Plus, if people find out that you don’t actually own the thing, you’ll earn a bad reputation among reviewers and will probably lose a lot of traffic that way.
Now that you’re familiar with the basics, I’ll leave you with just a couple of extra tips to make everything easier. Don’t forget to submit to directories as this will help spread your article around faster. Make your articles as short and sweet as possible with a lot of pictures and if you take these hints to heart, you’ll be converting those views to sales in no time.
