Methods Of Free Website Promotion
Many people discover that creating a website with quality content is harder than it looks, but website promotion can be even harder. The seemingly easier route to take with advertising is paying for ads or letting someone else do the work completely. Beginning webmasters should know, however, that there are some free and easy methods of website promotion.
Using keywords to get your site to show up in search engine results is called SEO, or search engine optimization. You use specific words that are related to your site a certain number of times on different pages. This makes it easier for search engines to crawl your site and place it in search results for specific search terms. If you really understand how and when to use SEO, then your site could even land on the first page of search results when people search for websites related to yours.
Visit other sites related to yours and consider exchanging links with them. That means that in exchange for you placing a link on your site to another, the site owner will return the favor. Send them an email asking whether or not they are willing to exchange with you. They are likely to agree to it since you both benefit from it.
If you do not have a page on a social networking site, then create one. However, like most of the world, you probably already have one or more pages. Place a link to your website on your social networking page so that all of your online friends can check it out. You could also make occasional posts or status updates about your website, just be careful not to do it too frequently. You could turn some people away.
Choose an online forum or discussion board to be a part of and participate in the conversation. It is even better if the forum is actually related to your site. Check to see if the forum allows users to have signatures. If so, then add your link to your signature. Every time you post something new, your signature is automatically attached, so your link is seen by anyone who participates in or reads the discussion. It is free advertisement that takes little effort. You usually get genuine interest from the people who click on these links, and usually more of it in forums related to your site. Also, you can show off your knowledge of your niche and make your online presence known.
Your outgoing emails can also have your signature. Most email accounts allow you to easily set up a signature that automatically attaches to all of your outgoing email. So, at the end of every new email is an invitation to your website.
Last, but not least, add a bookmark function to your website. It is a passive aggressive way of encouraging visitors to save your site to their web browsers or share it on social networks. Make sure button is in an area where it can easily be seen. This makes all connections to your site from visitors completely genuine and voluntary.
Other methods of free advertisement exist, but these are probably some of the easiest methods. Website promotion is more time consuming than difficult. These techniques do not promise the greatest amount of traffic, but they are simple to do and get you off to a good start. Currently Logged in as: Tony JallitPricing | Copyright (c) 2010 My
