Every online marketer must put in the time and effort to send high quality traffic to their sites. Obviously, traffic doesn’t generate itself, and having a site isn’t enough. You’ll need to create a compelling reason to make people feel like they have a good reason to stop by your site in the first place. Generating traffic doesn’t have to be hard, but it does take some knowledge, time, and some work. Building your website’s traffic is something that you will need to work on a little bit each day. If you begin to engage in social media marketing, and if your site is interesting enough, you may begin to receive traffic from people telling others about your site. In the meantime, however, here are some things you can do to start bringing in visitors.

Search engines, and visitors, like sites with fresh content, and often, and you can easily do that with a blog. Sites with old content are not “sticky,” people won’t return, so your sales letter better be real good to make a conversion during that one visit. If you update your site regularly people will have a reason to keep coming back. So this will increase your chances of converting the repeat, returning visitors to either sales, or an optin. This way you’ll become known as an expert, your reputation will grown, and so will your traffic numbers. It’s all good.

PPC campaigns are probably the fastest way to build traffic. These can be made relatively inexpensively. If you word your ads carefully and creatively, you can get quite a few new visitors through these pay per click campaigns. You have to get people to click on your ads, so be sure to make them clever and original!

You should try to take advantage of offline marketing, as well. Offline advertising can be very powerful in the right niches. A well placed classified ad in a magazine could do wonders for your site. You can use giveaway items in offline stores if they’ll let you do it. A lot of people you reach via offline marketing may not be accustomed to online marketing strategies, so they could be a source of easy sales for you.

You have no idea how many different methods exist, and still some undiscovered, to drive targeted traffic to any site. But the key is to sustain it and convert it. If you give just an hour, or so, each day to this activity, you’ll find it well worth your time. Remember the potential value that exists in each visitor to your site. If you do it, and never give up, you can create an empire that will last for a very long time.
