Google is such a huge site and gets the biggest fraction of search traffic. You can purchase a domain through them for as low as $10 a year. The advantage of having your own domain is you’ll have your blog under any name you want, if it’s still not taken. If you setup your account with Blogger, you site link with have a .blogspot.com extension on it. If you’re in business, it would be better to purchase your own domain as this is more credible than setting up free blog accounts.

WordPress is an open-source software. It’s a website development tool and is known for its powerful and easy to use blogging features. Many people are using wordpress to publish their journals, comments, daily experience and even business content. Though, unlike Blogger, WordPress doesn’t allow add-ons such as Google AdSense of eBay affiliate programs. It also allows you to change your site’s theme in an instant. It features ‘themes’ which is more like a pre-designed web look that you can switch to very quickly. Since its development, more and more themes are now available on the web. The good thing about this is that you don’t have to change your content to change your theme. In just a few clicks, you’ll get a new look to your website and still have your content in-tact.

Because WordPress doesn’t allow stuffing its pages with affiliate add-ons, your blog would look more professional. People make the most use of their WordPress blogs by posting credible articles and product reviews, and adding links to their money-sites. The only disadvantage that most people see is that, though WordPress add-ons are very useful, they could also sometimes be very confusing.
