Squidoo Trick And Hubpages Trick – Getting Extra Traffic To Your Squidoo Lens And Hubpages Hub Quickly

This optimisation tip was stumbled upon by accident.I was helping to promote an affiliate product, and in doing so, I created a Squidoo lens for that product to help with promoting the product. I added some click analysis to the URL so I could monitor progress. A few hours later, whilst checking my analytics, I noticed that 3 sales had already come through this Squidoo lens. This came as a very pleasant surprise.

Very curious to see what had happened to my lens, I logged in to Squidoo to check on progress. Looking at the analytics, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were an impressive 198 visitors to that lens in those few short hours.

So, the big question, how did this happen? I figured it out, I had done one thing differently for this lens.

The one important trick here is around something called a tag page. Tag pages can be found on both Squidoo and HubPages, which is why this tip is applicable for both sites. Some simple navigation around either site will find these tag pages as they can be found on most hubs or lenses. A tag page shows a number of hubs or lenses which are applicable to that tag. If you are not familiar with the term tag, they can also be thought of as keywords, they are synonymous.

Many tag pages on both HubPages and Squidoo get highly ranked by Google. It isn’t unheard for a Google Page Rank of 6 to be attained by these tag pages – this usually means that they get a first page ranking for their tag or keyword.

The key point here is to make sure that you associate your page with those high ranking hubs or lenses. This can be done on both sites, and leads to your rank on both sites for that tag becoming higher due to that association. Once you start getting a higher ranking, you too can rank highly for that tag term and getting some of that high traffic.
