1 of the things you find out when you get into working in SEO is that when you search on it to learn more, you come up with a lot of links with regard to affiliate marketing. I had no notion what that was when I started the training course to build up my abilities and I just ignored it as it did not look to have a lot of bearing.

What has become clear now that I’m more experienced is that the two things go as a match very nicely. affiliate marketing has to do with making a website and making partnerships with trading companies and putting in your pages links and banners to those associate sites to send traffic to them, and the partner firms are willing to pay a percentage of any business done to the affiliate for encouraging the traffic. Or, by offering a financial incentive, it can licence affiliates to insert links and adverts and have traffic sent from greater numbers of sources and thus reap more from the extra promotion, SEO and links which will be followed by the search engines.

The USA is where the scheme was initiated and they are, of course, a long way ahead in terms of affiliate marketing being accepted as an everyday business procedure and the enthusiasm of retailers to give commissions to, essentially anybody who places a link on their website. However, it is quickly becoming common in British commerce and affiliate program providers are starting up and offering the service to be the middle man, pairing advertisers to affiliates and giving technical help in things like banner production, monitoring, collecting and getting the commission payments to affiliates.

Now, none of this is going to make a bit of difference to the retailer unless the affiliate marketing web pages carrying their link is seen and so it is important that anyone looking at having a go at affiliate marketing knows something about effective SEO as well because otherwise you are going to can spend loads of time and a bit of money on registering your site, setting it up, picking your partners and inserting the banners and links. And yet it’s pointless unless you can put your page on the search engines in a location where possible visitors can see it and go to it.
